Health Ecosystem Training Department (HEC)

San Telmo Business School

Purpose

Leading the future of health requires understanding the whole ecosystem and anticipating its transformations.

Health Ecosystem Training (HEC) is San Telmo Business School’s research and education line for those who hold positions of responsibility in public, private and third-sector organizations linked to health. Its approach starts from one reality: healthcare challenges can no longer be analysed in isolation, but through the interaction between the environment, citizens, professionals and technology.

Its mission is to advise on and respond to the main challenges and opportunities facing senior healthcare management, identifying together with the sector’s protagonists the issues that should feed the School’s research and education. In this way, HEC connects management knowledge, professional experience and the transformation of the health ecosystem.

The 4 strategic research areas

HEC structures its research around four interdependent perspectives that make it possible to understand the healthcare system as a whole and turn its changes into senior management decisions.

The environment

It analyses the forces shaping the system as a whole: health economics, demographic change, management models and new forms of integration among the different players in the health ecosystem.

The citizen

It places the person at the centre of the reflection: patient centricity, the needs associated with different life and health stages, chronic illness and the Health Continuum as an integrated, continuous view of care.

The professional

It addresses the development and management of healthcare talent: lifelong learning, professional empowerment, preventive medicine and the management of highly specialized profiles, executive teams and middle management.

Technology

It studies how innovation is transforming healthcare delivery and management, with particular attention to telemedicine, artificial intelligence, genomics and other technologies capable of changing processes, decisions and care models.

Healthcare Senior Management Program (AD-S)

The Healthcare Senior Management Program (AD-S) brings this ecosystem view into executive development. It is aimed at general managers, managing directors and executives, board members and business owners, as well as healthcare professionals and managers with management responsibilities or called upon to take them on.

AD-S offers a global view of the management areas of healthcare institutions and a toolbox for facing the sector’s changes. The program seeks to develop leadership, improve the management of teams and resources and help participants understand the impact that management decisions have on the organization’s results.

Who makes up our Advisory Board?

The Advisory Board brings together leading organizations from the public and private health ecosystem and connects San Telmo with those who know its challenges first-hand. Its members help identify issues that are relevant for research and training and keep HEC’s activity closely linked to the sector’s reality.

Its composition responds to a criterion of the highest representative level: joining requires the approval of the current members, and organizations are represented by their Chair, CEO or Board of Directors. Appointments are personal and non-transferable and are formalized through a Business Collaboration Agreement.
