Management Development Program (PPD)
From specialist to integrative leader: the PPD is designed for professionals who know their area inside out and want to gain the global perspective needed to understand, manage and lead the business as a whole. Since 1982, through the Case Method.
The PPD Participant Profile
A management development program to broaden your perspective and strengthen your ability to manage and lead
The classroom brings together Operations, Commercial and Finance directors from medium-sized and large companies, professional general managers and business owners. Different profiles contribute complementary perspectives on the same business reality.
Each case is debated as if in an executive committee: every participant analyses the situation from their own perspective, challenges their decisions against those of others and discovers the consequences and implications for the business as a whole. Learning therefore goes beyond one’s own function to build a genuinely managerial perspective.
70% · Functional Directors
They know their function. They want to understand and lead the whole business.
→ Leads their own team and budget
→ Technical or specialist background
→ Their next step is general management or a business unit
20% · General Managers and Executive Committee Members
They already lead. They want to add method and sound judgment to do it better.
→ Makes decisions every day with full responsibility.
10% · Business Owners and Independent Professionals
They have built their business. They want to grow it with a stronger business perspective.
What Does the PPD Add to Your Management Career?
It is not only about gaining knowledge. It is about broadening your perspective, improving your judgment and developing your ability to lead.
A Global View of the Business
You move from looking at the company through your own function to understanding the business as a whole: how the different functions interact and how your decisions affect the rest of the organization and its results. Not to become a specialist in other areas, but to think like a manager.
Leadership and People Management
A manager’s challenge does not end when a decision is made: it begins when people turn that decision into reality.
You develop the capabilities needed to lead teams, motivate and engage your colleagues, manage different profiles and help people understand and embrace the organization’s objectives.
You learn to align effort and commitment in a single direction, so that every person and every team contributes as effectively as possible to the objectives set by management.
Networking and the Alumni Community
And when you finish, you join the Alumni Association: more than 15,000 alumni in 16 countries, with over 8,200 people taking part in activities every year.
Methodology
Practical Methodology
Learn to lead by leading.
The PPD is not based on memorising concepts or studying books and applying them later. It is a flight simulator for managers.
Through the Case Method, you face real business situations: problems that must be understood, diagnosed and solved with incomplete information and no single right answer.
You take the manager’s seat. You analyse the situation, take a position, defend your diagnosis, listen to other perspectives, challenge alternatives and decide.
«An experience you live. The Case Method turns every session into a decision-making experience. You analyse. Debate. Take a position. Listen. Question. Decide. And you return to your company with a broader and more rigorous way of understanding problems, making decisions and leading people.»
Individual study: first, your own diagnosis
Before hearing anyone else’s view, you analyse the case individually and reach your own conclusions.
What is the real problem? What is happening? What alternatives does the protagonist have? What would you do?
You arrive in the classroom with your own position, ready both to defend it and to question it.
Teamwork: challenge and question
You then share your diagnosis with other participants and test it against people who bring different experience, industries and ways of thinking.
You defend your arguments, listen to others and discover new perspectives.
This is where some certainties begin to fall away and new alternatives emerge.
General session: decide and learn from the debate
In the classroom, an expert professor leads the discussion among all participants.
The aim is not to find one correct answer. It is to understand the problem more deeply, assess the alternatives and their consequences, and reach a decision with sound judgment.
The professor contributes experience and knowledge, but learning grows out of the debate and everyone’s participation.
Practical workshops and virtual classroom: take it back to your company
Learning does not end in the classroom.
Workshops, exercises and virtual-classroom content help you transfer the tools and judgment developed during the program to real situations in your company, so you can put them into practice from day one.

Faculty Who Have Led Before Teaching Others to Lead
Faculty with first-hand experience leading companies, combining knowledge, judgment and management experience.
A case is not simply a vehicle for transmitting knowledge: the person who writes and teaches it understands first-hand the reality of business, the challenges managers face and the consequences of their decisions.
You will learn from professors who do not merely understand management — they have practised it.
