Senior Management Program for Leading Companies and Institutions (ADEL)
Since 1982, we have worked alongside executives, business owners and new generations as they make decisions under uncertainty, with purpose and real consequences. More than forty years later, over 15,000 people have taken part in San Telmo programs.
The ADEL Participant Profile
An Exclusive Space for Reflection for Those at the Top of Business and Institutions
The design and content of ADEL make it essential for people at the top of organizations, whether or not they have previously completed a management or executive development program. In the classroom: leading business owners, public leaders and senior executives from Spain and Portugal, all leaders in their sector or field, regardless of company size or turnover.
Business Owner, Chair and Shareholder
They own or chair the company. They come to challenge their thinking about the future alongside people who are already transforming their own organizations.
- Chairs and shareholders
- Ultimate responsibility for strategy
- Decisions about the business and its governance
Chief Executive
CEOs, board members and general managers. They lead the transformation of strategies, business models, governance systems and management structures.
- CEOs and managing directors
- General managers
- Board members
Executive Committee Members and Public Leaders
Executive committee members and public-sector leaders who design profitable and sustainable business strategies or public services.
- Executive committee members
- Public leaders
- With or without previous executive education
Listen, Think and Share: The Program's Core Objectives
Are we transforming our companies to face the future? ADEL is built around three pillars: Environment, Business & Governance, and People.
Listen: What Leaders Are Doing
“What leaders are doing”, best practices, trends, technologies and sustainability. Analyse the major technological, geopolitical and social challenges facing senior management — and the opportunities they create.
Think: Strategies and Business Models
Design profitable and sustainable strategies, supported by committed management teams and the right institutional configuration. Define the capabilities of business leadership: what leading companies are doing today, and how they are doing it.
Share: A Network of Contacts, Experience, Ideas and Business Opportunities
ADEL brings together leading business owners, public leaders and senior executives from Spain and Portugal. Experience, networking, alliances — and, on completion, access to San Telmo’s Alumni community of more than 15,000 active executives.
Methodology
The Case Method: New Cases, with Their Protagonists in the Room
New cases and working papers are discussed with the active participation of the CEOs and chairs involved, who join the classroom as guest speakers.
“To create a high-level space for reflection among peers. A place where we do not come to listen to lectures, but to share real-life experience, complex decisions and, in many cases, dilemmas with no single right answer. With the experience and diversity we have in the classroom, I am confident the discussion will be immensely valuable.”
Roundtables and CEO Dialogues: in-depth, closed-door discussions with business owners, public leaders and other stakeholders.
The fastest way to understand the method is to sit in on a real session, in Seville or Malaga.
Individual study
Participants analyse the case and draw their own conclusions.
Teamwork
Different viewpoints are challenged in small groups, guided by a discussion facilitator.
General sessions
The professor leads the classroom debate towards a diagnosis. Roundtables, flash cases and CEO dialogues complement the discussion.
Virtual classroom and networking
Working forums enable interaction with other participants, with multimedia support between sessions.
